2/3-Wheeler Chargers

Charging Li-ion batteries for e-scooters, e-bikes, electric motorcycles, and utility vehicles seems simple: Plug in charging cables and wait. But overheating or current and transient voltage surges can damage equipment and start fires. Ensuring onboard battery chargers incorporate high-quality overcurrent and overvoltage protection, as well as rectifiers and temperature sensors, is essential.

High-Power-Range Chargers

Speed up two- and three-wheeler EV battery charging with high-power-range (1–3 kW) chargers. View this block diagram to find electronics for those chargers. Components Littelfuse can provide include ac relays for emergency shutoffs, MOSFET and SiC diode rectifiers, and integrated PFC boost converters for power factor correction. We also offer several types of overcurrent and overvoltage protection.

Low-Power-Range Chargers

Low-power-range (<1 kW) chargers recharge most Li-ion batteries in two- and three-wheeler EV. A block diagram illustrates components Littelfuse makes to help these chargers operate safely and at maximum efficiency. Available solutions include MOSFETs configured as bridge rectifiers and boost converters, microcontroller units, and gas discharge tubes for transient voltage surge suppression.
