Littelfuse makes two types of specialty surface mount varistors for suppressing low-energy transient voltage surges and protecting electronics from electrostatic discharges. Our MA series metal oxide varistors feature radial leads and give users the choice of standard or tightened clamping voltage ratings. Our RA series surge protective devices have inline leads and feature seating planes that ensure secure mounting on printed circuit boards. This mechanical stability makes the MA series specialty varistors good choices for overvoltage protection in industrial and military applications subject to strong vibrations.
