Solar Sensor

Solar sensors detect the intensity of sunlight. When installed in commercial and passenger vehicles, the sensors produce information HVAC control modules use to adjust heating or cooling inside the passenger compartment. Littelfuse engineers partner with automakers to custom design each solar sensor for a class or family of vehicles. Options for the automotive sensors that can be specified include spectral characteristics, package size and shape, terminal material, connector type, and including a temperature sensor and LED indicator.
- Single Zone and Dual Zone sensors detect visible light (illuminance) in a range of 0 lx to 3.5 klx
- Multizone sensors detect visible light in a range of 0 lx to 10 klx
- Operate at 5 V
- Operate in a range of temperatures from –40 ℃ to 105 ℃
- Output produced as an analog current converted to voltage with a pull-up resistor
- Operate with a wide range of windscreen types
- Output linearly proportional to irradiance
- Patented diffuser technology provides horizon-to-horizon response
- Each sensor laser-calibrated
