High-current electrical systems such as those for tankless water heaters depend on solid state ac switches. Littelfuse offers a specialized thyristor module for those types of applications. Our 90 A ac controller module contains silicon controlled rectifier (SCR) thyristors. It operates at frequencies of 50 Hz to 60 Hz and has glass passivated (nonreactive) contacts to reduce energy loss due to metal–silicon contact.
