P-channel MOSFETs make ideal solid-state switches for stepping down voltage or connecting loads to ground. In the language of circuit designers, these metal-oxide–semiconductor field effect transistors make good buck converters and high side switches. P-channel MOSFETs can also be paired with N-channel MOSFETs to ensure complete handling of positively charged holes and negatively charged electrons for applications that require totem pole outputs. Littelfuse P-channel MOSFETs include PolarTM devices with very low on-state resistance and trench gate devices well-suited for automotive applications.
