SCR

Silicon-controlled rectifier (SCR) thyristors offer efficient switching solutions for low-current circuits. Gates on the solid state switches open with just a few milliamperes of current. The devices also turn off quickly, making them resistant to commutation failures. Typical applications for SCR thyristors include fluid level sensors and strobe lights. Littelfuse also makes SCR thyristors specifically for use in capacitive-discharge ignition systems and for use with solenoids for ground-fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs).
