Three-phase bridge rectifiers offer flexible options when applications call for solid state switches that can act as ac–dc converters, switched-mode power supplies, or electric braking units. Littelfuse subsidiary IXYS makes several types of three phase bridge rectifiers with standard or fast recovery diodes. One set of rectifier modules includes punch through IGBTs and optional thermistors to optimize electric motor braking performance. Another set of rectifier modules includes soft-start thyristors that reduce electromagnetic interference.
