
Converter + Brake + Inverter

CBI (converter + brake + inverter) IGBT modules serve as solid state switches in ac motor drives, solar inverters, uninterruptible power supplies, and switched mode power supplies. They rely on a MOSFET gate-control structure and the high current and low saturation voltage characteristics of a BJT to perform fast switching with high efficiency. Littelfuse subsidiary IXYS produces CBI IGBT modules with trench and extreme-light (XPT) configurations, and the modules are specifically designed to be used with three-phase power inputs.
- Collector–emitter voltage (Vces) ratings of 1.2 kV and 1.7 kV
- Maximum reverse recovery blocking voltage (Vrrm) ratings of 1.6 kV and 2.2 kV
- Forward currents when operating at 80 ℃ (If at 80 ℃) from 13 A to 90 A
- Brake Ic at 80 ℃ ratings from 12 A to 40 A
- Maximum average dc output current (Idavm) at 80 ℃ ratings from 105 A to 265 A
- Turn off energy per pulse (Eoff) ratings from 1.1 mJ to 25 mJ
