TOO04.5 Applications
- The NEC permits use of Edison-base fuses only as replacements in existing installations when no overfusing or tampering is evident
- New Edison-based fuse holders must have Type S fuse adapters installed before they are placed in service
- Type S adapters accept only Type S fuses and cannot be removed
- Reduce nuisance opening, avoid overfusing, and prevent shunting from open fuses by installing properly rated fuses
