Serving the Robotic Appliance Market

Robotic vacuums increasingly find themselves cleaning around other home robots that educate, entertain, and provide companionship. Each of these machines depends on motion sensors, dc or ac motors, and rechargeable batteries. Littelfuse supplies transformers for electric motors, rectifiers for docking stations, temperature sensors for chargers, and ESD protection for sensors and user interfaces.

Docking Stations

Docking stations for robotic vacuums and other household robots double as battery chargers. A block diagram shows which electronic components Littelfuse can supply to help ensure safe and efficient charging. Our solutions include Schottky diode rectifiers for ac–dc conversion, NTC thermistors to prevent overheating, and overvoltage protection devices such as metal oxide varistors and TVS diodes.

Robotic Appliances Motor Drives

Electronic solutions Littelfuse provides for motor drives in robotic vacuums and other household robots appear in this block diagram. Our products include resettable PPTC devices to ensure overcurrent protection to circuits and NTC thermistors to prevent excess heat from damaging brushless dc (BLDC) suction and stepper motors. We also supply TVS diodes to bolster overvoltage protection.

User Interfaces, Displays & Sensors

User interfaces, sensors, and displays for robotic vacuums and other household robots require ESD and overvoltage protection. A block diagram shows how TVS diodes and TVS diode arrays made by Littelfuse provide that protection to LCD and LED screens, USB ports, audio inputs and outputs, and wireless communication units. We also supply reed switches and actuator magnets for presence sensors.
